Tunisia
One of the most underrated countries I got to visit. The people are sweet and always willing to help. I started in the capital Tunis and enjoyed spending time walking around and seeing the historic French influence in a lot of their culture. Cabs were fairly cheap if you go by the meter and ensure you aren’t overcharged. A lot of the touristic attractions are well guarded and super easy to explore around. But in the Capital, I did get yelled at multiple times for having my camera out. It isn’t the best place to shoot videos, even though it is legally allowed.
From Tunis I went to Nabeul, Hammamet, and kept working my way south to Sousse. The coast is so beautiful and full of good resorts and nice places to visit and stay. I spent a lot of time just relaxing in these areas and enjoying some resort time.
From there I headed to El Jem, which houses one of the most beautiful amphitheater that was built by the Romans and well preserved. The Gladiator movie was shot in this place due to its beauty. I recommend a day trip using the minivans to go there, otherwise hiring a vehicle for the day would be epic as well.
From there I headed to Gabes and Djerba. I stayed in the Oasis in Gabes and enjoyed it very much. I met some of the most wonderful people there and got to experience some welcoming environment. From there, I went to Tozeur, which is where they shot Star Wars. It is a beautiful desert and a must see. I saw some friends there and had a wonderful time hanging around there.
Overall, I loved every minute of Tunisia. The people are so awesome and always willing to help and are so kind. I loved the landscape and the fact that it is a super underrated country, I think more people need to visit this place.
