Egypt

The most historic country I have ever visited! Welcome to the ancient civilization that has kept humans in awe and wonder to this very day. Where do you start with a country like Egypt? I landed in Cairo, Egypt and felt the history was a must see. The pyramids were something else and I hired an Egyptologist to show me around and give me some insight to the historic landmark. I spend a full day exploring in awe and was fascinated by the beautiful details of the Pyramid walls.

I did not enjoy the city center as much since it was packed with noise and people. Cairo city center was loud and lots of cars and pollution. But somehow it felt unique. One of the most populous cities, there were restaurants and shops everywhere and people were great. Some of the kindest people I have encountered lived in Egypt. But along with a busy city, there are a lot of street scams as well. People were looking to make money in any way they can from all sorts of opportunities. They would constantly bombard you on the streets thinking you may give them business. It became overwhelming for a while, but you learn to shrug it off. Also, there was a lot of hungry people everywhere it appeared. So, helping some of those less fortunate was ideally better than giving money to scams.

From the busy capital I headed to Alexandria, another wonderful city that is a must see. Named after Alexander the Great, the city sits on the Mediterranean Sea and is home to some beautiful history. The Bibliotheca Alexandrina library is a must visit and is world renounced for being a must-see place. I highly recommend doing the tour there, but keep in mind Cameras are not allowed there. And the seafood is a must try in Alexandria, I will just leave it at that.

From Alexandria, I headed south to Luxor, another historic place. Home to some of the most incredible world sites and locations. The famous Valley of the Kings and temples are a must see in Luxor and Aswan. In both cities I hired a historian to go over the vast history and beauty of this place. I highly recommend these locations when visiting Egypt.

In the very south point of Egypt, there sits a hidden gem… the famous Abu Simbel Temple built by Ramesses the II. This hidden gem is 4 hours away from the nearest touristic destination, but is definitely a must see. It gives you goosebumps and reminds you of a time when humans worshipped curiosity and devoted their entire lives to preparing for the afterlife.

In Summary

Egypt was a beautiful place, we have recently started a rating system for each country: (Out of 10 points)

People:Egyptians were solid people, I’d say 8.5, only drawback was the constant scams.

Culture: A good 9.0, Egyptians have unique culture dating back thousands of years.

OVERALL: 7.83 out of 10. A must see country
